It is Mission Viejo’s Second Annual Celebrate Differences Week! During the week of December 5 – 9, we will be focusing on the fact that everyone is different, and nobody is exactly the same. We all have something that makes us special and unique from everyone else. Even people with disabilities have special talents and wonderful strengths! It is important for us to realize how wonderful everyone is and to share our friendship with everyone around us!
Each day this week we will be wearing certain color clothing that signifies different disorders or conditions. Here is the schedule:
Monday: Wear Purple or Green to support Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy
Tuesday: Wear Silver or Gray to support Dyslexia, Brain Injuries and Diabetes
Wednesday: Wear Teal or Pink to support Tourettes and Cancer
Thursday: Wear Blue, Yellow or White to support Downs Syndrome and Visual Impairments
Friday: Wear Multi-Colors, Tie-Dye, or Purple to support Autism and ADHD
Students may purchase colored bracelets for $1.00 during their lunch to help support and recognize our differences. Proceeds will benefit programs that include students with special needs.
Today and every day, let's remember to share our friendship and kindness with everyone!
