Book Fair Fiesta

Thank you to everyone who attended our Book Fair Fiesta! A special thank you to all of our great volunteers! We had a fantastic Fair and will be able to add many new titles to our library collection.  In addition to surpassing our goal of selling 2000 books, we also collected over $300 for All for Books!  That money goes directly into books for our library, and Scholastic donates 300 books on our behalf  to one of several charities. Thank you, Mission Viejo!

Watch for information coming home soon regarding the Scholastic Summer Challenge. The Summer Challenge is an easy way to avoid the "summer slide" by encouraging daily reading. Our goal is to read one million minutes this summer. That sounds like a lot, but if every child read for 20 minutes a day throughout the summer break, we could reach that goal. Students will be assigned a username and password that they can use to log in and record their minutes. Last summer we came in third in the state – let's go for first place!

Even though our school library will be closed for the summer, you can still check out books anytime from the Overdrive library. Students need their active directory information, or lunch account number, to access the collection at cherrycreekschools.lib.overdrive.com. It's fast, easy, and best of all, books are returned automatically. Please let me know if you have any questions about accessing the collection, or downloading to your device.

Thank you,

Brenda Pease
